## Summary

Scottish Borders Council has awarded a contract titled "Award of Cycle to Work Salary Sacrifice," aimed at managing a cycle to work salary sacrifice scheme. This undertaking falls under the goods industry category and is based in the Scottish Borders. The procurement process was initiated via a tender, which began on 28th November 2016 and was concluded on 31st March 2019. This contract aims to encourage environmentally friendly commuting options for council employees by providing access to bicycles and accessories through participating suppliers within the region.

This contract opens up significant opportunities for businesses involved in the provision of sports equipment and cycling accessories, particularly those with a local presence in the Scottish Borders. Suppliers that can offer a range of bicycles, safety gear, and maintenance services may find themselves well-placed to cater to the needs of Scottish Borders Council employees. The successful supplier, Halfords Ltd, is already positioned within this vital market, but additional competitors can also engage by demonstrating their capacity to support a scheme promoting active and sustainable transport.
