## Summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is currently in the planning stage of a procurement process for a project titled "Commercial Partner - Electric Charging Vehicles for Taxi Trade in Edinburgh". This initiative falls under the services industry category and aims to establish a network of Rapid 50kW electric vehicle chargers dedicated to the taxi trade in Edinburgh. Key dates include a deadline for bids to the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) by 22 December 2016, with expressions of interest requested by 14 December 2016. Interested parties should note that all submissions should originate from delivery addresses within the Edinburgh region.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses aiming to enter or expand within the electric vehicle infrastructure sector. Companies focusing on chargepoint operations and those with expertise in the installation and maintenance of electric vehicle chargers would be well-positioned to compete. The successful bidder will not only benefit from a revenue-generating venture but will also play an integral role in supporting the transition to ultra-low emission vehicles within Edinburgh's taxi sector, capitalising on a strong demand reflected in local feasibility studies.

## Notice

Overall this proposal represents an excellent opportunity for a commercial chargepoint operator to generate revenue and establish a presence in Edinburgh. The feasibility study and driver's surveys have indicated that there is a strong appetite amongst the taxi trade in Edinburgh to consider switching to ULEVs.
