It is expected that flexible, culturally appropriate and evidence-based approaches will be utilised and that the successful supplier(s) will demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of the communities in question as well as the ability to be sensitive and responsive to changing priorities and need. The successful agency (or agencies) will also play a key role in adding to our understanding of the social and cultural dimensions of Africans communities in NHS GGC and through systematic monitoring and evaluation contribute to the wider understanding of how these factors shape health beliefs and behaviours, particularly in relation to HIV prevention needs and HIV-related health behaviour. The following brief describes what is required from the successful bid and outlines the key areas of activity that NHSGG&C anticipates will be covered.
