Complete demolition of Care Home at 14 Wellington Place, Edinburgh. This Contract is subject to Planning Approval as well as the requirements resulting from the archaeological survey proving affordable and feasible. Constructed in 1984, the building rises to three storeys. Slate roof on timber roof structure, external walls are cavity brick construction finished with combination of roughcast, facing brick and precast stone cladding. Precast concrete slabs make up the floors and foundations comprise reinforced concrete ground beams and pile caps. An asbestos survey is being carried to clarify whether the roof felt includes asbestos - asbestos has been found in one of the sink pads, in a safe and in the boiler room pipework gaskets. Due care is required to existing neighboring properties and a dilapidation survey will be required. A site survey will also be required to determine the programming and costing of the required work. Post demolition topographical survey required.
