## Summary

The procurement process involves Falkirk Council, which seeks to award a contract for the processing of scrap metal collected from its Recycling Centres, namely Kinneil Kerse Recycling Centre and Roughmute Recycling Centre, located in Bo'ness and Bonnybridge, respectively. This tender is currently in the Award stage, with the contract having commenced on 1st March 2017 and set to continue until 31st August 2017. Interested businesses were invited to submit bids for either of two lots concerning the collection and delivery costs of cardboard. The buyers highlighted the importance of having operational licensed facilities and registration as waste carriers by the start date of the contract.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses engaged in waste management and recycling, especially those that have or are capable of establishing licensed facilities for processing scrap metal and cardboard. Recycling companies, waste carriers, and environmental services providers would be well-positioned to compete for this contract. With an estimated 500 tonnes of material anticipated for processing every six months, suppliers with effective logistical solutions and robust health and safety policies will likely find this contract both beneficial and lucrative.
