## Summary

Dumfries and Galloway Council has successfully completed the tender for a new Museum Collections Management System, aimed at replacing the outdated Texpert system currently in use by its Arts and Museums Service. The procurement, classified under services, was conducted as an open procedure and took place with the main delivery address located in Dumfries, UK. The contract was awarded on 22nd June 2017, and the contract value stands at £105,515. This initiative involves the migration of approximately 89,000 records of the Council's extensive collection, which includes around 250,000 items ranging from historical manuscripts to archaeological artifacts.

This tender provides significant opportunities for businesses in the software development and IT services sectors, particularly those specialising in museum and collections management applications. Companies with experience in implementing compliant systems that facilitate data migration and management will be particularly well-suited to compete. The ability to offer additional consultancy services as part of the contract could also enhance the appeal for potential suppliers, particularly small to medium-sized enterprises looking to expand their market presence within the public sector.
