## Summary

The National Services Scotland, known as The Common Services Agency, is conducting a public procurement process for the development of the National Primary Care Clinical Database (NPCCD). This initiative is currently in the planning stage, with a closing date for the submission of completed questionnaires set for Monday, 20th March 2017. The project aims to replace the existing GP Contractor Database and extend it to include various clinical contractors, while being based in Edinburgh, Scotland, within the healthcare industry category.

This procurement presents significant growth opportunities for businesses that specialise in healthcare technology, software development, or data management solutions. Companies that can offer secure and user-friendly systems, capable of meeting the specific data governance and reporting requirements outlined in the procurement documents, would be well-suited to compete. Engaging in this tender could enable businesses to not only increase their portfolio but also strengthen their partnerships within the public health sector.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

NHS National Services Scotland is considering options with regard to a system they have and are carrying out a market sounding exercise. There is a requirement to replace the current GP Contractor Database (GPCD), which holds details of all General Medical Practitioners who are authorised to work in Scotland, for business and technical reasons. This has provided an opportunity to review the purpose of the system and to extend it to include other clinical contractors including, but not limited to, Ophthalmic contractors, Dental contractors, Pharmacies and Primary Care Prescribers. The system will be populated manually by Health Board staff, although there is a possibility of automating this via links with another system in the future. The system should hold key personal details and practice details; be searchable by Health Board users and practice users; have a reliable and user-friendly reporting function; and interface with a number of other national systems (likely 1-way, but there is a possibility of the occasional 2-way interface). Notifications of changes, etc, are likely to be required across Health Board users. The system will need to meet certain data protection, information governance, information security and other legislative requirements.. Interested suppliers should download the Questionnaire attached to this notice. Please complete as per instructions in the questionnaire. The closing date is Monday 20th March 2017.
