To provide technical support, over a 2 year period, for SEStran's Real Time Passenger Information (RTPI) system, in particular the internet based digital display screens element.The scope includes the establishment and operation of a helpdesk facility for a range of clients, numbering up to 350, hosting the system. SEStran provides the necessary hardware (A TV screen and a miniature computer) which is installed by the client. In addition to RTPI, the facility also allows clients to display promotional and advertising data alongside RTPI on the screens. To display RTPI, the screens must be configured with each client's details and appropriate (to the premises) bus stop (also train and tram) details.Open source software is used to provide the facility.Data for the screens is extracted from SEStran's Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) & RTPI system, operated by a contractor based in France.
