## Summary

The procurement process for the title "Wild Seaweed Harvesting as a Diversification Opportunity for Fishermen" was initiated by Highlands and Islands Enterprise, based in Inverness, UK. This project falls under the services industry category and was conducted using an open procedure procurement method. The procurement stage is complete, concluding with the awarding of the contract on 30th June 2017, with a total value of £159,036. The scope of work centres on investigating the economic feasibility of wild seaweed harvesting, aiming to guide fishermen in potential diversification opportunities.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses engaged in marine consultancy, environmental studies, or economic feasibility assessments. Companies with expertise in seaweed harvesting, marine licensing, or sustainable fishing practices would be particularly well-suited to compete. Given that this is a relatively unexplored area in Scotland, businesses that can demonstrate innovative approaches and sustainability will likely find valuable niches to grow their services in this emerging sector.
