The successful contractor will be responsible for the delivery of these particular elements of the Mapping Magnus project; - To hold archive research workshops and gather historical photographs with the Birsay community - To organise storytelling/song writing workshops and place names workshops - To hold public workshops in walkover and photographic survey - To hold preliminary schools workshops in archaeology, medieval Orkney/Birsay/St Magnus - To undertake community training workshops in excavation, finds and survey and geophysics - To undertake geophysical surveys, survey recording and excavations - To organise schools workshops and hands-on activities on site - To hold public workshops in coastal survey - To hold post-excavation workshops - To support the promotion and communication of the activity detailed above - To produce a professional report and illustration, publications and publicity around final reporting - To hold a project exhibition - To feed into the overall evaluation of the Mapping Magnus project It is envisaged that the scope of service and all expenses would be contained within a budget of GBP 45,875.
