## Summary

The University of Strathclyde is initiating a Major Works Framework Agreement, aimed at supporting its extensive Capital Investment Plan with a total estimated value of £250 million. This procurement process, which is currently at the Award stage, has been established under a selective procurement method following a restricted procedure. The agreement focuses on major construction works, including both new builds and refurbishments, with project values typically ranging from £4 million to £50 million. The framework is set to commence on February 2, 2018, and will run for an initial duration of four years, with potential extensions upon approval. Geographically, the projects will primarily take place in West Central Scotland, including delivery addresses in Glasgow and Paisley.

This tender presents significant opportunities for construction-related businesses, particularly those specialising in large-scale projects within the educational sector. Companies that can showcase experience in both new build and refurbishment works, and are capable of managing complex projects, will find ideal conditions for growth. Contractors who focus on total cost of ownership, value engineering, and corporate social responsibility will be particularly suited for this framework, alongside those with a solid commitment to fair and transparent supply chain management. As this framework allows participation from partners like Renfrewshire Council and Renfrewshire Leisure, there is potential for expanded partnership opportunities and contracts from these institutions as well.
