This review will be primarily based on stakeholder engagement incorporating a Charette. The study will be part funded by the Smarter Choices, Smarter Places (SCSP) fund operated by Paths for All. The KUDF is a strategic land use planning and urban design led study which establishes a coordinated approach to planning and development in Kirkwall for the next 10-20 year period. The output of the review is envisaged to form the basis of the new Urban Design Framework which will be used to coordinate the development of the town in the period to 2027-37.
