## Summary

The procurement process is initiated by Zero Waste Scotland Ltd for the "Rural Scotland Food Waste Roadshow," which is intended to promote food waste reduction among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in rural Scotland. The procurement method is open, and it is currently in the award stage. The estimated contract value is £48,258, with the award date being 13th September 2017. The roadshows are set to be delivered across eight locations in Scotland, including key areas such as Dumfries and Inverurie, with the initial four events scheduled before 31st March 2018 and the remainder planned for the 2018/19 financial year.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in event management, food sustainability, and community engagement, particularly those that offer services tailored to food and drink sectors. Companies with experience in organising workshops and promotional events, especially in rural contexts, would find this tender well-suited to their capabilities. Additionally, businesses focused on environmental protection and food waste reduction are encouraged to participate, as this initiative aims to create impactful local solutions for the SME audience facing challenges attending centralised events.

## Notice

Zero Waste Scotland wishes to promote the benefits of reducing food waste to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) operating in rural Scotland, recognising the difficulties that many of these SMEs can have attending events in the Central Belt by facilitating more localised solutions intended to encourage, support and engage with the target audience.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

Zero Waste Scotland wishes to appoint a sole Supplier (the Contactor) to deliver a series of Food Waste Roadshows across eight separate locations in rural Scotland. Each roadshow will consist of the following elements: *) A Food Waste Workshop targeted towards a food and drink SME audience; *) A food surplus exchange platform roll out; *) Communication activities via local media and stakeholder engagement; *) Access to Love Food Hate Waste cascade training; and *) Access to the 'Good to Go' scheme The locations for the first four roadshows are listed below. The remaining four roadshows will be delivered in the 2018 / 19 financial year (subject to continued funding and satisfactory performance) and locations are still to be confirmed, but will be in rural areas where there is a significant local presence of the target SME audience and where access to the similar types of events in the Central Belt may prove more problematic. *) Dumfries *) Inverurie *) Oban *) Orkney The Contractor will be responsible for arranging and promoting all aspects of the Roadshow in each confirmed location, including engagement with local media and stakeholders as relevant, as well as liaison with Zero Waste Scotland throughout. Zero Waste Scotland will provide additional details on the Food and Drink Waste Prevention Advice and Support Service provided through the Resource Efficient Scotland programme, for promotion throughout delivery of the roadshow in each location. The first four roadshows will be held prior to the 31 March 2018, with the remaining four to be scheduled for delivery between 01 April 2018 and 31 October 2018. The Contractor will be required to prepare a timetable of delivery, including details of any lead-in and follow-up activity.. Economic operators may be excluded from this competition if they are in any of the situations referred to in regulation 58 of the Public Contracts (Scotland) Regulations 2015
