## Summary

The Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (UTILITIES) is conducting a public procurement process for the "Subway Carriage Dry Ice Cleaning" service, aimed at addressing the maintenance needs of their subway trains located in Glasgow, UK (postal code G2 5JF). This procurement is currently in the Award stage, with the contract signed on 31st August 2017, valued at £42,750. The tender was originally published on 14th August 2017, and the procurement method was an open procedure. The service aims to utilise a non-abrasive and nontoxic method of cleaning, focusing on areas such as brake equipment and air reservoirs, to enhance the reliability of the fleet.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in cleaning services, particularly those that offer innovative, environmentally friendly solutions. Companies that focus on non-abrasive cleaning methods or have experience with public transport systems would be particularly well-suited to compete for similar future contracts. Engaging in such contracts can potentially lead to sustainable business growth and partnerships with public organisations like the Strathclyde Partnership for Transport, which may require ongoing services as they expand their offerings and maintain their fleet effectively.

## Notice

Specific areas to be focussed on during the cleaning process are the brake equipment, air reservoirs, power rectifiers and all other ancillary equipment to solebar level. Under seat equipment cases inside the cars requires to be cleaned to remove grime, dust & debris and the passenger door equipment to include door engines and control arms.
