## Summary

The University of Edinburgh has successfully completed a public procurement process to acquire a widefield microscope system under the procurement method of an open procedure. This tender, which falls within the education industry category, was aimed at enhancing laboratory capabilities and was initiated through the APUC framework BA-LAB046 for microscopes and imaging equipment. The procurement was finalised with a contract value of £149,044.96, and the contract was signed on 9 March 2017. The associated delivery address for the items is located in Edinburgh, UK, with the procurement documentation available for review.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for businesses in the scientific and laboratory equipment sector, particularly for those offering advanced research and imaging solutions. Companies that specialise in high-quality educational and research tools, especially those related to microscopy and sequencing technologies, would be well-positioned to engage in similar tenders. The successful supplier for this contract, Nikon UK Limited, reflects the market demand for reputable brands capable of delivering sophisticated equipment that meets the needs of leading educational institutions.
