## Summary

The procurement process is being conducted by Midlothian Council for the project titled "Boundary Wall Remedial Works," which falls under the works category in the construction industry. Located in Dalkeith, Scotland (EH22 1DN), this project is currently in the award stage, having been signed on 13 March 2018. The open procurement method applied allows any interested parties to participate. The submission method included written proposals, with the tender period leading up to the award on 30 August 2017.

This tender presents significant opportunities for construction-related businesses, particularly those specialising in masonry and restoration services. Companies that have experience with lime mortar rubble stone walls will find this competition particularly well-suited to their skills. Additionally, small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) should consider engaging, as the opportunity was particularly favourable for SMEs, with all bids received being from this category. Those with a strong portfolio in similar projects, reinforced by the requisite technical qualifications, can benefit from this engagement with the local authority.

## Notice

The wall along the North-West perimeter of the park and forming the boundary with number 20-38 Old Craighall Road is in a poor state of repair. In some places it has collapsed, sections of rubble stone cope are missing, the lower portions are badly affected by scouring, eroding both stone and mortar beds and in places, repairs have been attempted using cement mortar which has further eroded the stone. The condition is such that the wall now requires to be rebuilt in places.
