## Summary

The Forestry Commission is conducting a public procurement process for the project titled "Rhododendron & Invasive Species Control in West Argyll Forest District" within the environmental protection sector. The procurement method employed is an open procedure, and the procurement process is currently at the award stage, having already been completed. The framework agreement, valued at £1,200,000 and structured into three lots covering various locations such as the Isle of Mull and Mainland Argyll, aims to manage invasive vegetation over a period of two years. Key dates include the bid opening on 17th October 2017 and the award period commencing shortly thereafter.

This tender presents excellent opportunities for businesses operating in the environmental services sector, especially those with expertise in invasive species management, vegetation control, or land management. Companies capable of implementing effective techniques such as chainsaw cutting, chemical control, and manual pulling will be particularly well-suited to compete for the framework agreement. Collaborating or subcontracting will also be viable strategies, given that the buyer intends to engage multiple contractors across the lots. Businesses looking to provide their services across West Argyll can leverage this contract to expand their operations and strengthen their foothold in public sector procurement.
