Separation of Portal Frame Buildings The Works comprise the structural steel bracing of Unit Q10 walls with 45 degree structural steel column bracing on concrete pad foundations within Unit Q9 for the separation of the Portal Frames between the buildings. Note the (2Nr) end bracing work shown on the drawings will be carried out by the demolition contractor in a subsequent contract. Alterations to existing Fire Escape building The Work to the existing Fire Escape building is to enable the fire escape facility to be fully functioning prior to the demolition of Unit Q9. The Work comprising the demolition of the roof and stair head, the reinstatement of a new roof, vertical rails to stabilise the Fire Escape building and consequently a new skin of brickwork on new concrete foundation to form new external cavity wall with a wet dash finish. Building up of existing door and window openings. Provisional sums are allowed for electrical Work and services required to complete this stage of the work.
