## Summary

West Lothian Council is seeking contractors for the "Legionella Monitoring and Management" project, which falls under the works category. This procurement process is currently in the planning stage, with the council's procurement method being restrictive. The total value for this contract is set at approximately GBP 1,250,000, with a deadline for submission expected on 8th December 2017. The works will primarily take place within the West Lothian Council's properties, located in Livingston, Scotland.

This opportunity will appeal to businesses specialising in environmental safety and plumbing services, particularly those experienced in legionella risk assessment and management. Contractors with a strong background in compliance with health and safety regulations, particularly in high-traffic environments such as educational facilities, are encouraged to participate. The tender offers significant potential for companies that can demonstrate relevant certifications and experience in similar contracts, making it an excellent avenue for business growth in a specialised sector.

## Notice

The council has a legislative duty to monitor the risk of legionella and other water borne risks. The council does not have sufficient resources with the expertise to carry out the monitoring required so requires to have an external company provide these services to the councils specification. The council's regime of checking and monitoring is externally audited regularly with the auditor's recommendation that due to successful regimes in place further audits need not be carried out for a period of four years. It is a works contract due to the high level of replacements required as a result of the service part of the contract. As such the value of GBP 250,000 per annum makes this a non OJEU tender.
