### Lot Information

Lot 1

Two biomass systems are to be installed at University Hospital Ayr, a 1.5MW wood pellet biomass boiler and a small-scale biomass CHP unit. This contract is for the supply, installation and commissioning of a 1.5MW wood pellet biomass boiler which comprises the full electrical, mechanical and controls for the system. The full design of the system including the installation flue masts will be produced with the ITT tender documentation. The projects civil engineering works will be carried out by another contractor which will be tendered separately. Mains water supplies will be taken from the main boiler house. Both foul and surface water drainage systems will be required. Full electrical works are required to include electrical distribution, small power, internal and external lighting, heat and fire detection and alarms, and security alarms. The biomass boiler unit shall operate under its own bespoke controls. An interface with the existing BMS system will be required for the boiler and equipment not controlled by the bespoke controls is to be connected to BMS sub-panels the boiler house. Contract to supply and installation of a 1.5MW Biomass Plantroom 1 The plantroom needs to house: a. 1.5MW biomass boiler b. Twin cyclone grit arrestor c. Boiler 3-port control valve d. Boiler back-end pump (acts as primary pump feeding the external thermal store) e. Secondary pump from thermal store to main boiler house f. Heat meter on return from main boiler house to thermal store g. Three-phase electrical supply panel (from the non-essential supply board) h. BMS control panel i. High level and low level ventilation louvres 2 The following connections to the plantroom are required: a. Flue from boiler to flue stack b. Fuel auger from fuel silos to boiler c. Ash auger outlets from boiler and twin cyclone to ash skip d. Flow and return pipes from boiler to thermal store primary e. Flow and return pipes from thermal store secondary to secondary pump and heat meter f. Underground pipes from secondary pump and heat meter to main boilerhouse g. Mains water supply h. Foul mains connection from floor drain to sewer i. Three-phase electrical supply from the non-essential main board j. BMS network connection 3 System commissioning once fully installed by the main contractor 4 The following information is required for tender: a. Plan layout of the plantroom showing i. The proposed layout of the main items of equipment ii. The locations of inlets and outlets of the penetrations listed in 2a to 2j above iii. Lighting and small power iv. Proposed locations for heat and carbon monoxide detectors v. Proposed locations for biomass system emergency stop button(s) b. Full specifications for the main equipment: i. 1.5MW Biomass boiler ii. Twin cyclones iii. Boiler pumps and secondary pumps (each to be two separate pumps - not twin-head) iv. Back-end valve v. Heat meter c. Hydronic schematic of the plantroom d. Controls specification for the BMS control panel e. Specification for the three-phase electrical supply panel to include small power and lighting f. Specification for the plantroom security alarm including remote alarm warning to Estates Department Notes: - Pressurisation for the plantroom will be taken from the main boiler house via the return pipe from main boiler house to thermal store - The pressurisation unit in the main boiler house will need to be upgraded to accommodate expansion from the additional equipment - The tendering contractor is to produce the detailed layout of the plantroom. Economic operators may be excluded from this competition if they are in any of the situations referred to in regulation 8 and 9 of the Procurement (Scotland) Regulations 2016.
