Audio Visual Film and Sound Production Contractors

Audio Visual Film and Sound Production National Museums Scotland wishes to appoint a contractor to create the following AV resources: Two AVs that will be part of the visitor interpretation for two new galleries, Rediscovering Ancient Egypt and East Asia, which will open in 2019. Each of these AVs will consist of a variety of media, including archive footage and images, graphics and sound. Content will be selected to provide context and strong, attractive imagery. One AV that will form part of a national touring exhibition Discovering Ancient Egypt. The exhibition will tour to partner venues in Scotland January - December 2019. The AV will introduce visitors to the exhibition and to stories which illustrate the Scottish contribution to Egyptology. It will incorporate archival material and images, object photography and 'expert' introductions from local partners. It will also feature on the NMS website as part of an online resource developed to showcase local project outputs and collections.. Economic operators may be excluded from this competition if they are in any of the situations referred to in regulation 8 and 9 of the Procurement (Scotland) Regulations 2016.

Interactive Exhibit Software National Museums Scotland wishes to appoint a contractor to develop 5 software interactive exhibits as part of the visitor interpretation for two new galleries, Rediscovering Ancient Egypt and Exploring East Asia which will open at the National Museum of Scotland in 2019. We have a well- established track record in the development of interactives, digital and audio-visual presentations for our wide range of visitors. Visitor research for our galleries indicates that visitors enjoy a blend of different interactive experiences and our interpretation for the new galleries will build on this experience. The key objective of the commissioned work is to create digital iinteractive exhibits which delight, entertain and inform visitors to the new galleries. The digital interactives should introduce opportunities for active learning - investigation, enquiry and problem solving - around selected subjects and themes. Visitor evaluation will be embedded into the development of the gallery interactives planned. Software contractors will be expected to schedule in time and resource for the development of prototypes (paper prototypes and/or working digital versions) so that both museum staff and end users can test content, accessibility and playability.. Economic operators may be excluded from this competition if they are in any of the situations referred to in regulation 8 and 9 of the Procurement (Scotland) Regulations 2016.
