Lot 1

Lower Langlee is in the lowest percentage of Scottish Index of Multiple Depravation (SIMD) and has some of the highest estimated fuel poverty across the borders. As such the area was granted funding from the Scottish Government's 2017/18 Home Energy Efficiency Programme/ Area Based Scheme (HEEPS/ABS). The work is also funded from the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) agreed between the main contractor and energy providers and as required owner contributions. This phase of the programme concentrates on houses that are no-fines, solid wall construction, which do not comply with current energy efficiency standards. The work involves over-cladding external walls with insulated render, replacing the gutters, downpipes, soil and waste pipes.. Scottish Borders Council is awarding this business after conducting a Mini Competition from the Scotland Excel framework. The contractors invited to tender were selected from Scotland Excel's, Framework 09-13 Energy Efficiency Contractors, Sublot 2.1 External Wall Insulation.
