## Summary

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is currently engaged in the procurement process for Powered Respirator Protective Suits (PRPS) and Gas Tight Suits (GTS). This tender falls under the category of public order and safety and is situated in Cambuslang, UK. The procurement method utilised is a limited award procedure without prior publication of a call for competition, due to the service's statutory responsibilities under the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005. The contract was signed on 28th November 2017, and there is an option to extend it for an additional two years if necessary.

This procurement presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in safety and protective equipment, particularly those capable of supplying high-quality respiratory protection gear. Companies that meet the technical specifications related to compatibility with UK Fire and Rescue Services' operational guidelines would be well-suited to participate. The engagement in this contract not only allows businesses to cater to the needs of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service but also positions them favourably within wider emergency service markets across the UK.
