CalMac Ferries Ltd is the UK's largest ferry operator in terms of ships (34) and destinations served (27) and one of the largest transport operators in Scotland. It is a multi-award winning ferry and port operator and ship management specialist providing essential lifeline services and logistical support to island and remote communities. CalMac is due to receive 2 new dual fuel vessels in 2017 and 2018 with the first coming into service in the autumn of 2017. The crew on these new vessels will require being trained in the safe handling of the LNG fuel as required by law and a training provider is being sought to undertake this essential training requirement. All seafarers serving on board LNG Fuelled ships should, prior to being assigned shipboard duties, receive appropriate ship and equipment specific familiarisation. In addition, seafarers employed on LNG Fuelled ships should receive appropriate training on the risks and emergency procedures associated with fuels addressed by the IGF Code, in accordance with their duties and responsibilities.

Renewal: The contract may be extended by up to an additional 24 months.
