Lot 1

Transport Scotland is accountable to Scottish Ministers for the delivery of a broad suite of devolved, nationally important rail functions. Rail is a key part of the Agency's National Transport Strategy and the Government's purpose on creating a more successful country, with opportunities for all of Scotland to flourish, through increasing sustainable economic growth. The agency's primary delivery mechanism in realising our strategic aims are achieved through our rail franchises (ScotRail & Caledonian Sleeper), and directly funding Network Rail's activities in Scotland to own, maintain and operate the rail infrastructure (1,770 miles of track, 4,331 bridges and 80 tunnels). To continue to successfully deliver our strategic aims through the above mechanisms, Transport Scotland's Rail Directorate require access to effective specialist rail financial advice, across a broad spectrum of areas of expertise. This advice will be critical to the success of Scottish Ministers in taking forward a wide range of rail commercial, project and policy work.
