This notice is to indicate that East Lothian Council intender to contract with Biffa for the continuation of the current service for kerbside collection, handling and transport of multi materials for recycling. ### Procurement Information There is technical justification in service being provided by a particular economic operator for the following reasons: East Lothian Council is in the process of reviewing future requirements for all Waste Management Services. As signatories to the Scottish Household Waste Charter it is imperative that we model how best to transition our current service delivery portfolio to match the ambition of the Charter and become fully compliant. During this period the highest priority for the Council is existing service delivery. Therefore until the new Waste Management Plan is fully implemented and to avoid a disproportionate impact on current waste operations it is necessary that existing arrangements relating to service provision continue.
