## Summary

The procurement process for Composites Characterisation Equipment is being conducted by the University of Strathclyde, located in Glasgow, UK. This process falls under the goods category and is part of the purchasing activities for educational purposes. The tender was initiated on the 9th of February 2018, with a submission deadline set for the 7th of March 2018, while the contract was signed on the 26th of March 2018. The procurement method adopted is an open procedure, allowing a wide participation from potential suppliers, and the award for this contract was successfully given to Netzsch Instruments.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses specialising in the supply and installation of advanced characterisation equipment, particularly those with expertise in thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, and dynamic mechanical analysis. Companies that can demonstrate relevant experience and hold the necessary quality assurance certifications are well-positioned to compete. The successful contractor will not only be involved in the installation and commissioning of the required equipment but may also have the potential for further engagements given the University's option to request additional services or supplies in the future.

## Notice

As part of the growth and expansion plans for the AFRC the centre requires composites characterisation equipment to validate the integrity of composite materials such that it is of sufficient precision for the aerospace sector.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

The University requires a Supplier to install and commission a composites characterisation equipment that will include: - Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) to ascertain the mass change of a sample as a function of temperature and/or time in a controlled environment - Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) to ascertain the difference between the heat-flow rate between a sample and reference as a function of temperature and/or time - Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA) to ascertain the viscoelastic properties of polymer materials during a controlled temperature and/or frequency programme. Please refer to Appendix M Guidance Notes for the ESPD in the General Attachments area of PCS-T for full details on the minimum technical and financial criteria for participating in this contract. Tenderers should note the criteria for Part 4C.1.2 Services in the ESPD, contained in the Qualification envelope of PCS-T, also detailed below. Tenderers will be required to provide examples that demonstrate that they have the relevant experience to deliver the services/supplies as described in this part II.2.4 of the OJEU Contract Notice.

Options: The University reserves the right to request additional deliveries by the Successful Tenderer either intended as partial replacement of supplies or installations or as the extension of existing supplies or installations. The University may at its sole discretion exercise this option.
