## Summary

The University of Edinburgh is currently conducting a procurement process titled "EC0767 Maintenance of LEV systems and Fume Cupboard Systems." This initiative falls within the education sector and is based in Edinburgh, UK. The procurement is at the 'Award' stage and involves two lots focusing on inspection, testing, maintenance, and remedial services for approximately 900 Local Extract Ventilation systems and Fume Cupboard Systems across the university's estate. The successful contracts were awarded on 24 January 2019; the first lot pertains to the Kings Building, valued at £118,080, and the second lot is for Meds & Vets Central & Moray House Campus, valued at £68,760.

This tender presents significant opportunities for SMEs specialising in maintenance services, particularly those with expertise in ventilation systems and laboratory equipment. Businesses with experience in reactive and planned maintenance work, as well as strong qualifications in health and safety standards, would be well-suited to compete. The procurement will be executed through a two-stage restricted procedure, ensuring that only qualified bidders can progress, thus creating a competitive environment that favours capable service providers while ensuring quality and compliance with safety regulations.
