Fluidics decontamination: Replaceable fluidics systems to remove cross contamination risks from infectious or infected samples. Laser /Detector requirement: The system should be equipped with 4 lasers for excitation and at least 5 fluorescent detectors to cover the majority of the facility sorts. Sample collection format for single cell sorting: Cell sorting into 96 well and 384 well plates. Efficiency of and availability of sorting: Only the Sony SH800 provide all the capabilities required, the key discriminators and the other important capabilities are as follows; The SH800 is the only system on the market with 3 different nozzle sizes available: 70um, 100um, and 130um for sorting various cell types and cell sizes. The ability to deliver a variable nozzle size and replaceable fluidics are unique, both of these capabilities are covered by IP/patent listed below. The SH800 features sorting into tubes and index sorting into various types of plates, including 96 and 384 well plates. The SH800 fully automated sort setup and user-friendly software allows users with little flow cytometry experience to setup and operate the instrument independently. The biosafety option of the aerosol management system as well as CAS Class II Biosafety Cabinet provides sample and operator protection allowing processing of human samples. The Sony system includes key patented technology as follows: Patent number (Japan): 4661942 Date: 14/01/2011 Microchip flow cytometry for which channel is isotopically reduced. Patent number (US): US8350231 Date: 08/01/2013 Optical measurement apparatus, flow meter and optical Site measurement.
