One of the main elements of technical support required for the evidence base is where economic and skills modelling work is required with a view to forecasting demand and supply for jobs and skills.

Developing and Maintaining a Robust Evidence Base

SDS work on developing a robust evidence base gained momentum in 2014 with the development of Regional Skills Assessments (RSAs). The purpose of RSAs is to provide a single, agreed evidence base on which to base future investment in skills, built up from existing evidence.

Developing Skills Investment Plans (SIPs).

SDS work on developing a robust evidence base gained momentum in 2014 with the development of Regional Skills Assessments (RSAs). Skills Investment Plans (SIPs) utilise evidence to engage with industry and partners to identify key prioriities and a plan of action for investment.SIPs have been developed at two levels; at sectoral national level (Sector SIPs) and at regional level (Regional SIPs).
