The key objectives of this research are; to gather extensive data from a representative sample of crofters from across Scotland and create a quantifiable and robust dataset that ensures continuity with previous the survey methodology; and in addition with a research advisory group, to create improvements and additions to the survey which provide evidence on the economic and social conditions of crofters in Scotland that can provide the basis for future policymaking. There are likely to be additional attitudinal questions agreed by the research group in relation to crofters attitudes to a small number of policy and related issues.
