## Summary

Abellio ScotRail Ltd is preparing to launch a tender titled "WiFi beaming utilising Network Rail Infrastructure," aimed at enhancing high-speed wifi connectivity on their trains operating between Edinburgh and Glasgow via the Falkirk High route. The procurement process is currently in the planning stage, with a future notice date set for 20th April 2018. The contract will require installation and commissioning of the wifi system by 2nd March 2019, with service operations extending until 31st March 2025, allowing for further extensions. This project falls under the category of railway services within the services procurement classification.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in telecommunications and technology solutions, particularly those with proven systems for delivering high-capacity internet connectivity in transportation environments. Companies that can offer innovative technology to ensure continuous connectivity, alongside those that can manage the installation of necessary equipment on trains and at trackside locations, will be particularly well-placed to compete for this contract. The involvement with Network Rail's infrastructure further opens avenues for collaboration between suppliers and railway services, which could lead to expanded opportunities across the rail network.
