## Summary

The Forestry Commission, located in Edinburgh, is conducting a tender titled "FW0045 Chainsaw Operations Scotland" within the environmental protection industry. This procurement process adopts an open method and encompasses various services for tree clearance across multiple regions in Scotland. The tender period is set to end on 9th July 2018, with an overall contract value nearing £5 million. Bidders must navigate through a structured process, which includes 11 specific lots covering diverse areas, such as the North Highland and Dumfries & Borders Forest Districts.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in forestry services and equipment supply, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with experience in chainsaw operations and related machinery. Companies capable of delivering both core services, which include planned and unplanned tree clearance, and non-core services, have the best chance of success. Additionally, firms that can demonstrate expertise in operating advanced machinery and effectively managing operations adjacent to roads and public spaces will find themselves well-positioned to compete in this framework agreement.

## Notice

The FC has a requirement for the provision of Chainsaw Services throughout Scotland. These services comprise planned and unplanned tree clearance work which will also include the provision of small scale machinery extraction services across all Scottish Forest Districts. The machinery element is split into Core Services which all bidders must be able to bid for, and Non-Core services which may be required but which are not mandatory requirements in order for tenderers to submit a bid.
