## Summary

The Common Services Agency, commonly known as NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), is conducting a tender for the "Joint Development with NHS NSS of an ECT Database." This project focuses on developing a web-based system for the accreditation network for Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT), which is vital for enhancing healthcare services in Scotland. The procurement process is currently in the planning stage, with relevant documentation available. Key dates include a submission deadline that has passed, and the procurement process is classified under the services category, utilising a selective procurement method as part of an innovation partnership.

This opportunity presents significant avenues for growth for businesses specialising in healthcare technology, software development, and clinical systems. Companies that can innovate user-friendly and efficient web-based solutions for health-related databases will be particularly well-positioned to compete in this tender. Additionally, firms familiar with intellectual property licensing in the healthcare sector can leverage this contract to facilitate ongoing commercial relationships and revenue-sharing arrangements with NHS Scotland.

## Notice

Scotland has a strong history in the effective use of clinical audit to drive improvements in healthcare for the people of Scotland. This opportunity is for an exclusive development of a web based system including the ongoing use of the intellectual property for the accreditation network for Electroconvulsive Therapy [ECT], developed in Scotland and endorsed by the Royal College of Psychiatrists and Healthcare Improvement Scotland.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

Scotland has a strong history in the effective use of clinical audit to drive improvements in healthcare for the people of Scotland. This opportunity is for an exclusive development of a web based system including the ongoing use of the intellectual property for the accreditation network for Electroconvulsive Therapy [ECT], developed in Scotland and endorsed by the Royal College of Psychiatrists and Healthcare Improvement Scotland. This accreditation network has been recognised internationally for delivering demonstrable improvements in patient care and there is worldwide interest in adopting the Scottish approach. More information on the current legacy ECT database and system, known as SEAN is available here: http://www.sean.org.uk/ The network requires a new, web-based version that is more user-friendly and efficient than the system which it will replace. The product that is developed would be managed through licence agreements and we expect that a licence will be granted to the successful company for the ongoing use of NHS intellectual property to develop and internationalise the approach. It is expected that each of the parties will bear its own costs and that the developed product will be commercially exploited by the company with resulting revenue shared with NHS Scotland.

Renewal: This is an on-going commercial relationship
