This is a voluntary ex ante transparency (VEAT) notice. This notice is to indicate that Scottish Enterprise intends to contract with LinkedIn. LinkedIn are the only B2B Social Media supplier who can give Scottish Enterprise and Scottish Development International licence holders access to tens of millions of C Suite prospects worldwide. The 60 licences software will be used by SE & SDI Trade and Investment staff across 40 offices globally to help identify, reach and engage targeted audiences for the purposes of marketing Scotland as an attractive location for inward Investment and encourage international trade with Scottish companies. It will also help promote SE solutions and services to globally competitive companies and sectors.

LinkedIn are the only B2B Social Media supplier who can give Scottish Enterprise and Scottish Development International licence holders access to tens of millions of C Suite prospects worldwide; the other two B2B Social Media networks Xing and Viadeo cannot offer a comparable reach globally or access to C Suite industry sector contacts in key markets like USA, India and China, where so much of Scotland's inward investment originates, having less than 10% of the members and being focused on German / French speaking countries respectively. Unlike previously when SE bought these licences through Dog Digital - Glasgow via a competitive tender to digital agencies, clients can now only buy these LinkedIn licences directly but there are significant taxpayer benefits - no agency fee mark up, training is included rather than extra and discounts apply for longer contract periods. Our current LinkedIn Sales Navigator licences run out 02/06, after which if this contract isn't renewed, then all the thousands of prospects info stored within will be lost because LinkedIn cannot extend the licences. This contract will be for 24 months with the option to extend for a further 2, 12 month periods.
