LOW COST RESPECTFUL FUNERAL The 2016 Birrell report 'Funeral Poverty in Scotland' identified that there are increasing numbers if people struggling to cope with funeral costs. In light of the increasing funeral poverty, the Tayside Councils would like to work with local funeral directors to make a standard low cost funeral package available to consumers, which would make arranging funeral costs more achievable for many people, helping to prevent people building up large amounts of debt and reduce the stress and worry caused by the situation.. There will be 3 Contract Lots, one for the Angus Council area, one for the Dundee City Council area and one for the Perth and Kinross Council.
