The aims and objectives of this project is to replace the Council's existing 'Storm' ferry ticketing and hardware and management information software with an integrated ticketing solution to support the Council's ferry service. This will support delivery of the following business benefits: Robust and more reliable hardware removing the need to transport machines to Oban area office and improving service efficiency Broader back office functionality and reporting capability Capable of supporting day to day ferry management operations Capable of integration to finance systems Can support eticketing and multi journey / commercial contracts Communication connectivity options allowing either immediate data download or synchronisation daily from any broadband line. Supports Digital First strategy and encourages self service, thereby reducing burden to on board ferrymen concerned with operating the vessel. Potential to integrate with NEC travel card Potential for future on- board card payments, both mobile and contactless. Economic operators may be excluded from this competition if they are in any of the situations referred to in regulation 8 and 9 of the Procurement (Scotland) Regulations 2016.
