This national exhibition aims to showcase the achievements of Scotland's Urban Past (SUP) and its communities, and promote a new perspective on our shared urban heritage. The main criteria for the exhibition are the following: Immersive, interactive and accessible format It is an exhibition of secondary and digital content; there is no original material Digital aspects (films, oral recordings, digital maps and photographs etc) will showcase outputs on different media Full exhibition to be held at a central venue, but it should be flexible enough for some of its components to tour around smaller venues in other towns and cities in Scotland. Key messages: This exhibition showcases the achievements of the communities that have taken part in Scotland's Urban Past. HES has enjoyed and are grateful to have worked with the communities across the length and breadth of Scotland Exploring and celebrating heritage is engaging and something that anyone can do, no matter who you are HES values your heritage and the places that matter to you, whether these places are very old or more recent The team delivering Scotland's Urban Past are experts that were able to show participants the many ways that they could explore their heritage HES maintains the National Record of the Historic Environment, a dynamic resource for everyone to discover and use; everyone can contribute to its creation The venue We have not secured the main venue yet. Part of the consultant's role will be to scope out and secure a venue that best conveys the ethos of the project. Specific content The celebration will consist of a core exhibition held at a central venue in a major Scottish city, acting as an interactive and full-immersive hub to experience community urban heritage outputs. The outputs range from survey records, photographs, videos and other digital content, as well as comic books, drama pieces and oral history recordings. Further information on the community projects undertaken as part of SUP can be found in the Appendix 1 attached. The winning tender will demonstrate a novel approach to draw together these outputs in an engaging way. The appointed consultant will be required to deliver the following: Location idea to best convey the ethos of the project The exhibition design, taking into account different display options (such as screens, poster boards, projections, sounds, live performances, etc.) The graphic design and production of captions and text to accompany the imagery, films, sounds, projections, etc. A poster and postcards for the exhibition, to be disseminated and displayed at the venue and at other locations in Scotland Invitation for opening
