## Summary

Grampian Health Board has initiated a tender process to procure a new cyclotron for the John Mallard Scottish PET Centre located in Aberdeen, Scotland. The tender process is in the Award stage, with the procurement being classified under the goods category. Key details include a total contract value of £1,250,000, with the contract signed on 20 December 2018. The original procurement method was an open procedure, intended to meet installation requirements by the first quarter of 2019.

This contract presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in the healthcare equipment sector, particularly those specialising in technical medical devices and infrastructure upgrades. Suppliers with experience in turnkey projects and prior engagements with healthcare providers would be particularly well-suited to compete. Given the project's scope, companies capable of delivering not only the core system but also installation qualifications and relevant specialised equipment can leverage this tender to strengthen their market position.

## Notice

NHS Grampian was planning to equip the John Mallard Scottish PET Centre with a new cyclotron which must have met the requirements detailed within the NHS Requirement in the Tender Documents. Installation into a hospital setting was required by the Q1 2019. This replacement was to be a turnkey procurement which would require the decommissioning and disposal of the existing machine. The John Mallard PET Centre had an RDS111 cyclotron in place supported by Siemens. The System was then 21 years old and was used predominately for the production of 18F and occasionally 11C. The procurement had to be Turnkey including but not limited to the installation of the final core system but should also include the supply of any specialized equipment, connection to the existing infrastructure, installation qualification (IQ), operational qualification (OQ) and performance qualification (PQ).
