## Summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is undertaking a public procurement process for subsidised childcare services aimed at working parents, with contracts focused on specific areas in Edinburgh including North Edinburgh, Wester Hailes, Craigmillar, and South Edinburgh. The procurement method employed is a limited award procedure without prior publication of a call for competition, which is justified by the limited supply market for these services. The awards for this initiative have been completed as of 20 March 2018, with contract values ranging from £84,105 to £395,369, emphasising the importance of providing affordable childcare in areas of high unemployment and poverty.

This tender presents significant opportunities for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) specialising in childcare services, particularly those with experience in delivering flexible and subsidised childcare solutions. Companies operating in childcare, educational services, or community support, especially those familiar with the specific demographics and needs of the Edinburgh region, would be well-suited to compete. The contracts aim to enhance childcare accessibility for low-income parents, thereby fostering a supportive environment for increased business involvement in crucial childcare services.

## Notice
