## Summary

The procurement process involves the Grampian Health Board, which is seeking to acquire NHS Grampian Radiotherapy Dosimetry Equipment to enhance the quality of its radiotherapy services. The tender, classified under the health industry category, is currently in the Award stage. Key details include a procurement method of "open" through an open procedure, with deadlines that indicate the tender was initiated on 17th August 2018 and awarded on 4th December 2018. The primary delivery location for the equipment is the Radiotherapy Department at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses that specialise in medical equipment, specifically in dosimetry and radiotherapy technologies. Companies capable of providing high-quality, compliant products that meet NHS standards will find themselves well-positioned to compete for this contract. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) particularly stand to benefit, given the scope for collaboration and sub-contracting indicated by the tender requirements. The successful tenderers will not only supply the equipment but also take on the role of Prime Contractor, which may allow for further business growth through servicing and maintenance contracts.

## Notice

To support the delivery of a high quality radiotherapy service, NHS Grampian maintains a wide variety of dosimetry equipment to meet both the routine and specialised needs of the department. While some of this equipment was replaced with the introduction of the department's new linear accelerators (circa 2011), several of the critical components of the system have not been updated in significantly longer. Therefore NHS Grampian wished to replace the existing hardware to ensure long term reliability and to enhance the functionality of the existing system.
