Direct award call-off contract from the Scottish Government Framework: Interpreting, Translation & Transcription Services. The Smith Commission proposed the devolution of significant welfare powers to the Scottish Parliament. Many of these powers are set out in the Scotland Act 2016. Once fully enacted, social security benefits in excess of 2.7bn GBP will be transferred from the UK Parliament, including powers to create Scottish benefits for those of working age. The devolved powers have also resulted in the establishment of the Scottish Social Security Agency (SSSA) which has a commitment to accessible and inclusive communication. In order to engage with customers who do not speak or read English as a first language, the SSSA will provide foreign language and Gaelic translation, audio recordings and Easy Read formats for all guidance and application form materials.
