Lot 1

The Medicines Team provides clinical support and advice across Healthcare Improvement Scotland. The contract period will be from 1 November 2018 to 31st March 2019. Outputs will be based on requirements of individual programmes of work and will include design of inspection tools, advice on methodology, good practice in clinical settings, and resolution of complex legislative issues where no solution currently exists. The supplier will be expected to provide: - Expertise, knowledge and advice on inspection and service review methodology - Advice on medicines governance, medicines legislation and regulations, professional practice for medicines in clinical settings, safer use of medicines - Participation in regulatory activity where there are aspects that require specialist knowledge and advice in relation to medicines. For example; Systemic Anti Cancer Therapies (SACT)slimming clinics and online primary care providers. - Relationship building, liaison and influence both with quality assurance teams and agencies external to HIS will be a key part of the role and the supplier should demonstrate credibility through clinical expertise and qualifications. Experience of working in a clinical setting is essential and experience of working with inspection teams is desirable. - The supplier will report directly to the HIS Chief Pharmacist and agreement of key outputs with quality assurance teams will be necessary to complete the work satisfactorily. The ability to develop positive and collaborative relationships across different teams and external bodies is essential. - Other pieces of work as advised by the Chief Pharmacist.

Renewal: The option, by mutual agreement, to extend for two separate twelve month extension periods, unless the Contract is terminated in accordance with the provisions of the Service's Terms and Conditions of Contract.
