HIAL wish to appoint a Main Contractor to a Contract for the provision of construction works to rehabilitate Runway 14-32 pavement at Kirkwall Airport.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

The runway pavement south of the intersection is to be planed out to a depth of 50mm and replaced with a 50mm Hot Rolled Asphalt (HRA) surface course. The HRA inlay is to be grooved from the 32 Threshold to the intersection with Runway 09-27. A 30mm HRA overlay is to be applied to the runway shoulders south of Runway 09-27 intersection and north of the intersection up to the runway hold markings. The edge of the shoulders are to be wedge planed to tie-in to the existing runway levels. Beyond the runway hold markings the shoulders are to be inspected by the contractor and operations, with any areas in poor condition to be overlaid with a 30mm HRA overlay applied across full width. Similarly, the edge is to be wedge planed to tie in to existing runway levels. Pavement markings affected by the works are to be replaced in accordance with EASA.

Options: Shoulders to the north of hold bar R8 to be left currently in existing condition until inspection by the Contractor and HIAL. Where instructed, any areas of poor condition are to be overlaid with 30mm HRA applied across the full width.
