## Summary

North Ayrshire Council is currently engaged in a public procurement process titled "NAC/1116 - Treatment of Post-Consumer Recyclates (Multiple Streams)," aimed at addressing their new Zero Waste Strategy. This procurement is classified under the services category and focuses on the treatment of various post-consumer recyclable materials, including mixed papers, plastics, and comingled dry recyclables. The tender is located in North Ayrshire and stipulates that contracts are to be effective from 1st April 2019. The procurement method employed is an open procedure, with key activities having been completed on the 26th of November 2018.

This procurement process presents significant opportunities for SMEs specialising in waste management and recycling services. Businesses that can efficiently manage and process recyclable materials, particularly those familiar with treating large volumes of diverse waste streams, are well-suited to compete for this tender. Furthermore, successful bidders could benefit from contracts designed for an initial period of 18 months, with potential extensions, thereby offering a stable source of revenue and scope for growth in the sustainable waste management sector.
