SNBTS works with communities, hospitals and professionals to ensure that the donor's gift is used wisely and effectively for the benefit of patients. Dry Ice in pellet form (10kg bags) is used for the transport of frozen blood products, tissue products such as bone, tendons and hearts valves and cells. The use of dry ice is to ensure that the cold chain can be maintained.

Renewal: The Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service shall be entitled, at its option, to continue the contract beyond the three year initial Contract Term for three (3) twelve (12) month periods subject to giving not less than six (6) months' notice to the successful Bidder, such notice to expire no later than the date upon which the Contract would otherwise have expired.
