## Summary

The procurement process involves the Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT), located at 131 St Vincent Street, Glasgow, UK. The tender, titled "Aluminium Bus Shelter Supply, Installation and Groundworks", falls under the transport industry category and operates under an open procurement method. This process has recently concluded, with the contract being awarded on 14th May 2019, and is structured to last for four years, accommodating the delivery of approximately 100 bus shelters annually, with provisions for additional structures based on funding availability.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for businesses, particularly those specialising in the supply and installation of bus shelters, construction, and groundworks. Contractors with a proven track record in similar projects, the capability to meet strict timelines, and the ability to handle variations in volume based on annual funding will find this an appealing opportunity for growth. Innovative solutions that can accommodate the specific needs outlined in the contract are also likely to attract favourable attention from SPT.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

THIS IS A CONTRACT AWARD NOTICE We require a resourceful bus shelter contractor with a depth of experience who will provide SPT with confidence in their ability to react to our various requirements within strict specified timescales. The anticipated volume of shelters to be called-off is estimated to be in the region of 100 shelters per year, with around 15 to 20 areas of hard standing per year, however these volumes will vary from year to year and there is no guarantee this volume will be called-off as it is dependent on available funding. At times projects may arise which will result in more significant numbers of shelters being called-off, up to around 200 shelters per year. Tenderers must fully understand that the volume of work on the contract cannot be guaranteed. Funding is allocated on an annual basis and funding available for the purchase of new shelters in each year will not be confirmed until around March of each year. We will update the successful contractor as far in advance as possible of intended shelter and groundwork call-offs. There will be a requirement for shelters with no advertising unit and shelters with illuminated six sheet advertising units. The shelters will be aluminium frame shelters with the majority to be called-off having a curved glazed roof. There may also be a requirement for a limited number of shelters with an angled flat roof. Delivery within specified timescales is essential. A Service Level Agreement (SLA) will be required for this contract. The contractor is advised that the requirements of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 for non-notifiable projects will apply to this contract. The contractor will therefore be appointed as the 'designer' as defined in the regulations and will be responsible for performing the duties of the designer as they apply to this project. The contractor will also be appointed as the Principal Contractor as defined in the regulations and will be responsible for ensuring that all works carried out under the contract comply with the relevant requirements of the regulations.

Options: Potentially, should there be innovation within the industry

Renewal: Assuming bus shelter provision is still required
