In order to improve efficient and effective utilisation of surgical beds it is proposed that Ward 4B will provide 18 general surgical beds and 6 High Care beds. In order to achieve compliance with the standards required, general refurbishment works are necessary. It is envisaged that to provide compliant in-patient and high-dependency accommodation, alterations within the existing ward footprint of circa 602 square metres will be required..
