## Notice

Dumfries and Galloway Council as part of Dumfries and Galloway Integrated Joint Board (IJB), requires to procure a new contract for the provision of Adult Day Care Services in Stranraer and The Rhins. Currently, this service provision provides Day Care Services for 33 service users using 78 sessions a week. Adult Day Care Services offers elderly people a range of activities to help them continue living at home or with their family or carer. The range of activities include: -Help with everyday tasks and personal care; -Develop skills and find out the things they can and can't manage; -Offer service users the opportunities to be part of their community; -Allow service users and their carers to get a break; and -Provide opportunities to meet people and make friends.

### Lot Information

Lot 1

Day Care is non-residential support to meet the care, social and daily living needs of older people in a group setting that is not their home. Day care is a registered service with the Care Inspectorate and is managed and staffed by appropriately qualified and trained staff. Contract Objectives: - - This contract will deliver day care to older people who live in and around Stranraer and the Rhins; - Day care provides personal care (including meals) alongside social activities which can help to reduce social isolation, promote better nutrition and hydration; - As well as meeting the needs of the person using the service, day care also supports Carers families to experience the benefits of a short break from caring; - Day Care can also assist recovery, rehabilitation and low-level reablement after an illness or accident. It can also develop confidence and skills (or regaining skills) to increase or maintain independence; The contract includes the transport of service users who require this from their home to the care setting and the return journey.

Options: Following the initial contract period of 12months, the Council may opt to extend for a further 12 months.

Renewal: This ocntract may be extended for a further 6 months period.
