Lot 1

The works comprises of the construction of a new-build steel frame museum extension, with a gross internal floor area of 540m2, to house a museum-standard exhibition space, flexible education space, modern cafe, toilet facilities and information area. The works will also comprise the restoration and improvement of the adjoining existing Scapa Flow Visitor Centre & Museum 'Pumping Station' building (Category A listed). In addition to the aforementioned new-build extension and existing category listed buildings restoration works, the works will also include external site works including new drainage improvements and Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) compliant improvements to the existing pathway network associated with these two buildings. This will also include rationalisation of car-parking arrangements on the existing category listed concrete slab ('boom slab') and new external lighting installations.

However, the restoration and improvement of these two buildings DOES NOT form part of this works notice and will be phased later in the project.
